Heavy Equipment Operations with CDL
Through the Heavy Equipment Operations with CDL training program, students may obtain the training to give them the capability and qualifications to operate a variety of light and heavy equipment used in the construction and transportation industries. In addition, graduates, through learning the course material, will be trained to drive a tractor-trailer in order to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
The use of various teaching methods will allow students to learn the course material in several manners. A mix of theory classes provides the instruction, and hands-on practice gives students valuable time working with real equipment. New Castle School of Trades also supplements these methods with print reading, soils, and finishing and grading procedures.
By utilizing these methods, graduates will be able to operate a tractor-trailer, fork truck, dump truck, bulldozer, backhoe, front loader, motor grader, excavator or tractor, and have the ability to maneuver a trailer for the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
Graduates of the Heavy Equipment Operations with CDL program will be qualified for entry-level positions as:

- Dump Truck Drivers
- Heavy Equipment Operators
- Grade Helpers
- Forklift Operators
